REFEREE INFORMATION 2009 2010 SEASON
To ensure everyone who needs to know gets the correct information with regards to referee assigning throughout the season, please review and distribute the attached explanations.
Referees for Westwood teams are booked as follows throughout the year:
Timbit 2 WW officials (only when specially requested)
Novice 2 WW officials - Home Games Only
Atom 3 WW officials - Home Games Only
Pee Wee 1 4 Central Zone Assigned Only
Pee Wee 5 9 1 Central Zone Ref
2 WW linesman - Home Games Only
Pee Wee Girls Central Zone Assigned Only
Bantam Girls Central Zone Assigned Only
Bantam (all levels) Central Zone Assigned Only
Midget (all levels) Central Zone Assigned Only
Junior C Central Zone Assigned Only
EXHIBITION GAMES
For all Westwood assigned levels of exhibition, 2 refs are required.
Westwood will assign exhibition referees for the levels that we normally book throughout the season. All CZRC levels must be booked through the Central Zone assignors as follows:

Coaches / Managers will need to provide appropriate lead times for all exhibition games they wish to book. The following lead times are required:
Westwood Assigned - 1 week notice no problem
3 days notice should be no problem
2 days notice good luck
the night before dont even call!
CZRC Assigned Weeknight games min of 1 week
Weekend games min 1 - 2 weeks
These lead times are based on referee availability at certain times of the week and the availability of assignors to act on your request. Please remember all assignors are part time and may not be available at a moments notice to respond to your last minute request.

NOTE: Please have correct cash for each ref
a 14 year old ref is not going to have change for a $50
nor are they likely to have a chequing account
plan ahead please!
PLEASE NOTE: The Westwood Board will once again cover the cost of 2 exhibition games for each team. These free games need to be played BEFORE the start of the regular season. After that date, exhibition games become a team expense. Please pay the referees at the rink before the game begins. When you have completed your 2 free games, forward a request for reimbursement to my attention via e-mail (please do NOT send me the game sheet) with the following information:

REGULAR SEASON
During the regular season, all referees for all levels will be assigned by Westwood and Central Zone. You do not need to do anything to ensure referees arrive at your games. All billing will be handled by the assignors.
ESSO MINOR HOCKEY WEEK
During Esso Minor Hockey Week, all referees will be assigned by Westwood and Central Zone assignors. Regardless of how you perform throughout the tournament, you do not have to contact me as to your progression. This is all coordinated through your community and CZRC assignors for you.
PLAYOFF GAMES
Once again, all payoff games will be assigned by Westwood and Central Zone. There is no need to contact anyone concerning booking refs for these games.
TOURNAMENTS
As with exhibition games, Westwood will assign referees for tournaments throughout the year for teams we would normally assign for. Central Zone will do likely. As much advance notice as possible would be appreciated.
NOVEMBER 10 is the deadline to book Central Zone refs for Christmas Tournaments.
JANUARY 31 is the deadline to request Spring Tournament officials through Central Zone.
For Westwood assigned tournaments please e-mail me your schedule with dates and times. I will complete a booking sheet and return by FAX or e-mail the details including costs. All tournaments must have the appropriate number of officials on the ice. The costs are once again $20.00 per official / game.
